Strength.
On her own terms.
Before the pro card and the Olympia stage, there was a sixteen-year-old discovering what she could become.
Known as The Golden Girl, Monique bought her first gym membership at sixteen. Homeschooled and without a background in competitive sports, she found confidence in the progress she made. When a trainer saw her potential, she began preparing for the stage. In 2001, she won the overall at her first figure show in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
She recorded five figure wins between 2001 and 2007 before moving into bodybuilding at the encouragement of judges. She wanted to grow stronger while keeping the femininity that mattered to her, with Lenda Murray as her inspiration. In 2010, a heavyweight and overall win at the IFBB North American Championships earned her pro card. Her professional debut followed at the IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Championships in 2011.
Behind that achievement were twelve years of factory work, twelve-hour shifts, training and raising her daughter. With the guidance of her coach Johnny Stewart, she built a career around the priorities that grounded her: God first, family second, bodybuilding third.
Faith. Family. Bodybuilding.
